Whether you're in the mood for a classic Salisbury stake with a side of mashed potatoes with the works, or a simple seafood platter with fried shrimp and catfish, or a basic sushi plate with a side of yum yum sauce you can find all that at Cate Street Seafood Station. the idea of Cate Street started in 1971 by the Wong family when they opened Trey Yuen. in 2003, their children bought an old Hammond Freight Station from Duffy and Donna Gay Bordelon, and later renamed to Cate Street Seafood Station.

no matter what you eat, if you ever go to cate street, you must always grab the pepper jack crawfish dip, it a creamy rich entree served with a side of baked pita bread. its a great bread breaker centerpiece for any dining experience and a quintessential starter for any first timers. so you might want to be quick before its gone from the table. while there are other appetizer options such as the Fried Pickles served with a wide of Ranch dressing or the debris fries with freshly cut jalapenos.

the rest of the meal is honestly up to you since cate street has a varletry of food items for you to try out. whether you want a nice, hot, rich, diner style fried chicken steak with white gravy. or you could have a simple and zesty sushi made fresh in shop. served with wasabi and pickled ginger. Cate street provides a wide election of sushi rom a multitude of fish. my personal favorite is the Volcano roll, a salmon roll piled high with shredded snow crabs and topped with burning siracha served with an extra side of spicy mayo. or the Ed Hoover roll, a crawfish roll wrapped in soy paper, topped with chef and eel sauce.

So the next time you're in Downtown Hammond, and you need a bite to eat while you're out with friends or family, Drop on by to Cate Street Seafood Station and grab a bite to eat.
